Susan (Susie - left in picture) was born to Mary (Cawthorne) and Robert Swallow during 1920 in Whitechapel, East London. She was second eldest  of five children and one of three sisters (Winfred - pictured with her s3198).

She married George Lakin (pictured) and lived in a Stepney flat for many years. Together they had two children. Terry the eldest, married and went to live in Gidea Park, Essex. Linda's partner (they may have been married) was also called Terry and they lived in a ground floor flat in Grove Road, Bethnal Green for a period. They had at least one daughter. She then had a second daughter through a second partner Teddy. George Lakin died 16th Jan 2009 aged 95.
